A Father’s Dream
James Moustacas founded his legal firm in 1985 with the aim of offering honest advice and proactive legal services to Sydney property buyers and sellers, business owners and families. “I just wanted to help people,” says James. “When the phone rang, I’d answer it personally – even if it was 7 o’clock on a Saturday night.”
Almost entirely due to referrals from clients (and without advertising), the firm grew quickly and enjoyed many years of success supporting delighted clients.
Committed To Caring
“We didn’t merely provide legal services,” remembers James. “We helped couples buy their first homes and families stick together through the most difficult times of their lives.”
A Son’s Adventure
During the conclusion of his town planning career in which he studied overseas in Champaign, Illinois, Anthony relocated back to Champaign to study law in the hopes of becoming a sports agent.
However, his father’s desire for him to come home and be around the family caused him to change his mind. He boarded a flight back to Sydney and studied law at UTS.
A Devastating Diagnosis
During Anthony’s first year of law, he received a call that would change his life. James was diagnosed with cancer and only had 6 months to live.
Anthony boarded a plane straight away. Thankfully, that was 12 years ago and although it hasn’t been plain sailing, James is still counting his blessings. This diagnosis changed both James’ and Anthony’s lives.
New Direction, Same Dedication
Anthony decided to stay in Australia and join his father’s firm to help out. His experience in property was invaluable and so he undertook graduate studies to become formally qualified as a lawyer.
Over the next seven years, James and Anthony worked side by side. “Dad taught me so much,” Anthony admits proudly. Through their shared commitment to clients the firm continued to grow.
With James since retiring, Anthony continues the legacy of providing personal, proactive legal services to families and business owners throughout Sydney.
